Believe It or Not

It is fascinating to see and to understand how we human beings work our human energy consciousness system. Nobody taught us; nobody gave us a workshop when growing up; nobody lectured us on the ins and outs of our energy fields and how we connect to each other’s systems.  Yet, we have learned very early on to modify, change, and restrict our energy system.  For example, we adopt a belief, we even make it our own.  This one belief will then form our thoughts, influence our feelings, control our speech and actions, and ultimately shape our lives.

Now, in the course of growing up from the time we take our first breath, throughout childhood, adolescence and into early adulthood, we learn from our parents, from friends, school and authority figures, from our environment, community, culture, religion, and the global human community.  We learn how to think, how to live, how to speak, and how to process life events.  We learn how to interpret reality.  This interpretation is imprinted onto our psyche in the form of beliefs and we live our beliefs; we become our beliefs, we are our beliefs.

“A thought is harmless unless we believe it. It’s not our thoughts, but our attachment to our thoughts, that causes suffering. Attaching to a thought means believing that it’s true, without inquiring. A belief is a thought that we’ve been attaching to, often for years.”

Wholeness – Not Just for the Holy Man

Wholeness or Wholesomeness is something that all human beings aspire for but many of us do not know that and do not know how to achieve it. There is an innate quality in all humans that drives us to come to a place of balance, clarity, and peace and to be aligned in one’s purpose and live congruently.  Wholeness brings joy, even bliss, and brings about a sense of freedom.  We try so hard to capture and grasp those things and so much of our energies and resources are being diverted to obtain joy, happiness, and freedom – many times in vain and without true lasting results.

But Wholeness is not something that is out of our reach. We just don’t know where to look for it.  We may be looking and searching in all the wrong places and we may even travel the world to find it.  We also may give ourselves over to others who we think have found it in the hopes that they will lead us to the holy grail – our wholeness.

We like to put things neatly away when we do not know how to get it or understand it or don’t know what to do with it. We package it up, categorize it, and then file it away or bury it, because it does not fit our beliefs.  And so we do the same with wholeness – we believe that we are not meant for wholeness or that we don’t deserve it or that it is unattainable.  Our beliefs mold our lives.
